Gary Lupul

293 games played over 7 years for the Vancouver Canucks

After a successful Junior career in Nanaimo and Victoria, Lupul joined the Vancouver Canucks as a free agent signing in 1979. The 5’9, 175 pound forward scored in his first two NHL games, the start of a seven year career in Vancouver between 1979 and 1986.

Lupul’s career wrapped after playing 293 games with the Canucks, however he continued to play in Europe for two seasons before returning to Vancouver as a junior and college scout for the Canucks. Lupul passed away suddenly in 2007 and leaves a lasting legacy of excellence in Powell River.
